The 23-year-old prodigy was signed on contract earlier this month for Rs 3 crore. As IPL 2025 resumes this Friday, Owen has already reported to the PBKS camp and will be available for selection straight away. He has vast recent T20 experience and hot-scoring form in several leagues across the world.

Mitchell Owen’s T20 Career Stats and Achievements

Owen has represented the team in 34 T20 games, scoring 646 runs with two centuries, his highest being 108 runs. With bowling, he has chipped in with 10 wickets, adding to his all-round talents.

He produced a total of 102 runs in eight innings at a ludicrous strike rate of 192.45 (in his first season of the Pakistan Super League , PSL) confirming his explosive ability. The journey to Owen from the PSL to IPL confirms his developing profile in the T20 format.

In January, Owen’s fortunes in cricket changed overnight when he made the news in the Big Bash League (BBL). As part of the Hobart Hurricanes, Owen made 108 in just 42 balls, matching Craig Simmons’ record for the fastest BBL hundred. The innings, which also included 11 sixes, was significant in Hobart’s first-ever BBL title.

After that, Owen smashed 149 off 69 balls for Tasmania in the One-Day Cup, making him one of the most exciting young stars in Australia. For his performances, he got contracts with the best leagues in SA20, PSL, and now IPL 2025.

Punjab Kings Well-Positioned in Playoff Race

With seven victories from 11 games, PBKS are third on the IPL 2025 points table and well placed for a playoff bid. They will face the Rajasthan Royals at Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur next Sunday.

Key Reinforcements On The Way

PBKS team has already reached Jaipur and will start practicing from Thursday. Australian stars Josh Inglis and Marcus Stoinis are also likely to join the team before their May 24 match against Delhi Capitals, adding more depth to the team.
