Islamabad United is looking unstoppable. In their latest match, they crushed Peshawar Zalmi by a huge 102 runs. It was their second big win in a row, and once again, it was Sahibzada Farhan who stole the show with a brilliant century. His powerful hitting helped Islamabad post the highest total of the tournament so far: 243 runs.

Zalmi just couldn’t keep up, despite an intense fight from Mohammad Haris, who made 87 runs from 47 balls. The rest of the team fell apart, and they were bowled out for just 141.

This time, Islamabad chose to bat first, and they made the most of it. The pitch was great for batting, and even though they lost an early wicket, Farhan quickly took control.

  • 73 runs came in the powerplay a flying start.
  • Farhan smashed 22 runs in one over against young Ali Raza.
  • The momentum never slowed down.

Colin Munro joined the party and played a solid role, letting Farhan lead before picking up pace himself. Farhan reached his century in just 49 balls, showing top form.

Even after Farhan and Munro got out, Islamabad didn’t stop. Players like Azam Khan, Salman Ali Agha, Jason Holder, and Ben Dwarshuis added quick runs to surpass 240. They scored 80 runs in the last six overs alone a nightmare for any bowling side.

Zalmi’s Chase Falls Apart Early

Chasing 244 was never going to be easy, and things got worse for Zalmi from the start. Babar Azam was out for just 3 balls, caught at slip. That early blow set the tone.

Soon after:

  • Mitchell Owen got out.
  • Saim Ayub also fell cheaply.
  • After just four overs, Zalmi were 26/3, and the required rate had jumped to nearly 14 runs per over.

The match was slipping away fast.

Mohammad Haris Fights Alone

While the top order collapsed, Mohammad Haris fought hard. He hasn’t had much form in T20s lately, but this time he showed his skills with clean hitting.

  • He smashed sixes off Dwarshuis and Holder.
  • He crossed 50 runs quickly, keeping hope alive.

But without support from the other end, Haris couldn’t do it alone. Imad Wasim bowled smartly, keeping things tight. He took out Tom Kohler-Cadmore, and Zalmi kept losing wickets one after the other.

Haris kept swinging, reaching 87 runs, but finally got caught at long-on trying for another big shot. He was Zalmi’s ninth wicket, and it was clear the match was over.

In the end, Dwarshuis cleaned up the final wicket, and Islamabad sealed another massive win.
