Islamabad United Records:
Misbah-Ul-Haq, Pakistan’s previous captain, was selected the team’s leader when it was formed in 2015. They finished the league with a 4-for-8 record and had to go through the playoffs to reach the final game. They won the championship after defeating the Quetta Gladiators by six wickets in Dubai. Islamabad finished fourth in 2016-17, but won the PSL 3 championship the following year, giving them back-to-back titles. JP Duminy took over as captain for the final game that year after Haq was injured during one of the regular season games.
