In a sensational SA20 run-fest during Game 6, the Pretoria Capitals and Paarl Royals treated local fans to an electrifying match that witnessed over 400 runs and a nail-biting last-over finish. The Capitals’ first home game of Season 2 ended in disappointment as the Royals secured a tense 10-run victory, marking a double triumph after their previous win at Boland Park.
The difference-maker for the Royals was their experienced seamers, who restricted the Capitals to 200/7 in response to their own formidable 210/3. Player of the Match, Lungi Ngidi, set the tone with two early wickets in the first over and closed out the match with a total of four wickets, finishing with figures of 4/39. West Indies international Obed McCoy played a crucial role in defending 14 runs in the last over, battling severe cramps but displaying remarkable character.
