The chairman of Pakistan cricket board Ramiz Raja finally answered the hostile voices rising against the board regarding the mishandling of Shaheen Afridi. Former Pakistan captain, Shahid Afridi revealed controversial stuff about the behaviour of PCB with Shaheen Afridi recently. The young fast bowler went to the UK for rehabilitation from the knee injury.
As per Shahid Afridi, Pakistan cricket board didn’t even pay for the ticket of his flight and also the physio was even arranged by him in London. After this statement of the former captain many Pakistan cricket fans and followers trolled the National Cricket board for misbehaving with a senior player of the team. But after all this drama, finally the PCB chief Ramiz Raja spoke about the allegations put on them.
Shahid Afridi was the centre of this whole controversy that happened between PCB and the cricket fraternity of the country. Before Asia Cup 2022 Shaheen Afridi got injured, which resulted in his ruled out from the tournament. After it eventually it played a big role behind the defeat of Pakistan in the finals against Sri Lanka. So according to Shahid Afridi this raged up the management of the cricket board and they took revenge by rudely behaving with the senior fast bowler of the team.
Finally, the rehabilitation process started from Shaheen Afridi; he will play the key role for Pakistan team in the upcoming T20 World Cup 2022. But his partner Hassan Ali will be no more with him on the field as the selectors ruled him about completely from the T20 scenario. Ramiz Raja created one more controversy a few days before when he snatched the phone of an Indian journalist and tried to be physical with him.
While speaking to a popular journalist of Pakistan in an interview, Ramiz Raja said, “But I would like to make one thing clear. Our players are our biggest stakeholders. Ask anybody. What we are doing, no cricket board doesn’t do. And not just for players who play for the national team. First Class players, junior players as well”.
Later he added, “It could be that in this case, there was a lack of clarity. Because he had to leave quickly from Dubai, maybe there was some ticketing issue. Because he went where he had to go, but he didn’t like the place, so he went somewhere else”.
