The Orange Cap IPL 2025 standings shifted dramatically on Sunday. Virat Kohli, who scored a steady 73* off 54 balls during Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s (RCB) successful chase of 158 against Punjab Kings (PBKS), climbed to third place with 322 runs.

It was Kohli’s fourth half-century of the season, and he now averages 64.40, the highest among players with over 150 runs (excluding Tim David’s exceptional 142.00 average).

However, Kohli’s time at third place was short-lived.

Suryakumar Yadav, in the night fixture between Mumbai Indians (MI) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK), smashed a brilliant 68* off 30 balls, guiding MI to a dominant nine-wicket win. With this performance, he jumped to 333 runs, overtaking Kohli and ending the day in third place behind:
