Twitter goes bitter, as the flamboyant Pakistan opener, Mohammad Rizwan will probably bat at number six in the T20 WC 2022, as the recently announced squad of the team indicates it clearly. Mohammad Rizwan is the new T20 batsman of the world, but as the new probable playing 11 of Pakistan picked from the squad tells a different story. He will probably come to bat at number six in T20 World Cup 2022, over which Twitteratis slammed the PCB and their selection criteria.
Veteran cricketers of Pakistan like Shoaib Akhtar and Mohammad Amir portrayed the selection of Pakistan team as ‘Cheap’. In the squad Fakhar Zaman keeps as a reserve player and the new opener Shaan Masood brings in as the new partner of Babar Azam. As per the new equation Masood will open the innings as he is an intrinsic opener since the start of his international career. Like Fakhar Zaman he couldn’t bat at any position in the top order of the team.
If he comes in the side as an opener, then Mohammad Rizwan either has to play in the top order or directly at the finishing position of number six. His chances of playing in the top order is so rare as Iftikhar Ahmed also couldn’t play in the middle order of the team. Mohammad Rizwan bats aggressively at number 6 in the test team of Pakistan, due to which his new batting position is considered as confirmed one.
This equation also confirms the new batting positions of all players in the T20 world cup for Pakistan team. The other pick which missed out in the squad of Pakistan, ‘Hasan Ali’ many fans and followers considered it as the breakup of fast bowling duo, “Afridi-Ali”. Naseem Shah replaced him in the playing 11 but his inexperience came forth on many occasions in the Asia Cup 2022. So, Pakistan Team management also have to be careful about this vulnerable factor with the young pacer Naseem Shah.

They should play Shan Masood and Rizwan as openers, Babar should come in 3 as he already does in test and ODI, Shan and Rizwan have excellent partnerships in the Multan franchise of PSL and the left hand-right hand combination would make it difficult for fielding team.

Best option is to drop Babar. Play Rizwan as opener only
