Nitish Kumar Reddy is one of the most promising young Indian cricketers, and he was set to play in the IPL 2025 for SRH, though his chances of a comeback were narrowed down by an injury he sustained during the T20I series against England last month. Reddy suffered from a side strain during the training session ahead of the second T20I and headed to the BCCI’s Center of Excellence for rehabilitation. This slimed his chances of appearing in the IPL 2025, however, we have good news.
Nitish Kumar Reddy was cleared by the medical team after a final test on Saturday. He also played a practice game on Friday, where he was able to bowl efficiently without any pain or discomfort. He is now ready to play for SRH in the IPL 2025 in the opener match of the team on 23 March against the Rajasthan Royals.

This is a significant milestone for the team, given his outstanding performance in the last season, where he scored 303 runs in 13 matches with a strike rate of 143. SRH retained him for 6 crore INR in the mega auction as they look for a title win this season, especially after being so close to the victory in the last season.
Nitish Kumar Reddy is not crucial for the IPL 2025, but he’s also of great importance as he’s one of the most prominent players in the Test matches for the national team. He scored his maiden international century against Australia in his fourth Test match, which was a historic moment in India’s crikey history.

He also became the third-highest wicket-taker in the Ranji Trophy 2022-23. Reddy became the first Nunber 8 and 9 to face over 150 balls in a Test innings after 147 years. He also has a great track record in the IPL, which might help SRH win their much-needed title.
