A total of eight New Zealand batters have scored over 10,000 runs in international cricket, with Martin Crowe being the first Kiwi to cross 10000 international runs.

Kane Williamson – 18213 runs
Kane Williamson is on the top of the list of New Zealand batters with most runs in international cricket. He has the most runs, most centuries, the best average, and most half-centuries for New Zealand. The batting great is still going strong and has made enormous contributions to New Zealand’s batting unit for a decade or so.
Williamson made his debut in 2010 and has played 359 matches so far. The Kiwi has scored 18213 runs at an average of 48.18. He has 45 centuries and 98 half-centuries to his name with a best score of 251. Under his captaincy, New Zealand won the ICC World Test Championship 2019-21.

Ross Taylor – 18199 runs
Ross Taylor played most matches for New Zealand in international cricket. He made his debut in 2006 and was the first Kiwi cricketer to play at least 100 matches in all three formats. He featured in 350 matches, scoring 18199 runs at an average of 42.72 with a best of 290. Taylor smashed 40 tons and 93 fifties in international cricket. He is the second of the New Zealand batters with most runs in international cricket.

Stephen Fleming – 15289 runs
Stephen Fleming is the third of the New Zealand batters with most runs. He made his debut for the Kiwis in 1994 and played until 2008 featuring in a total of 395 matches.
Fleming played a total of 111 tests and 280 ODIs and five T20Is for the Black Caps, in which he amassed 15289 runs. He was the first ever New Zealand cricketer to go past the 15000-run mark in international cricket. He captained the New Zealand cricket team in 303 games.

Brendon McCullum – 14676 runs
Renowned for his aggressive batting approach, Brendon McCullum is the fourth of the New Zealand batters with most runs. He is the only Kiwi to have scored a Test triple hundred.
McCullum played 432 matches across formats of the game, scoring 14676 runs at an average of 34.37 in international cricket. The former captain has 19 centuries and 76 half-centuries to his credit, with the highest individual score of 302 runs.

Martin Guptill – 13463 runs
Martin Guptil was regarded as one of the best New Zealand openers of all time. He is still the only Kiwi batter to have scored a double hundred in ODI cricket. He is the fifth of the New Zealand batters with most runs in international cricket.
Guptill made his debut in 2009 and played for New Zealand until 2022 featuring in 367 matches and scoring 13463 runs at an average of 35.90. He hammered 23 centuries and 76 half-centuries with the best score of an unbeaten 237.
