This series marks the end of a hectic stretch of nine Tests for NZ, following away matches against Afghanistan (one Test), Sri Lanka (two Tests), and India (three Tests).

After concluding their series against England, New Zealand will welcome Sri Lanka for a series of T20Is and ODIs spanning from late December to mid-January. Following this, NZ will visit Pakistan for an ODI series, which will also serve as a preparatory event for the upcoming Champions Trophy.  New Zealand will also host Pakistan for 5 T20Is and 3 ODIs in late Match and early April.

The women’s team will also have a busy season, kickstarting with a 3-ODI series against Australia, all scheduled to be played at the Basin Reserve just before Christmas. In late March, Australia is scheduled to play three T20Is.
