On February 22, the Imad Wasim-led Karachi Kings will face Mohammad Rizwan-led Multan Sultans in the 11th league match of the PSL 2023 at Multan Cricket Stadium in Multan. Multan Sultans presently sits atop the PSL 2023 Points Table, with Karachi Kings in fourth place.
The table-topping Multan Sultans have provided no injury reports ahead of Tuesday’s match. Captain Mohammad Rizwan has been in excellent form, scoring three half-centuries in four innings and totaling 219 runs.
Shan Masood, his partner, has struggled to produce runs, with only 26 in the last three innings. After scoring 35 runs and adding 100 runs for the first wicket in the Sultans’ opening game of the season, the batsman has gone silent.
No.3 Rilee Rossouw’s strong form continues, as he scored 30-ball 36 following two 70-plus knocks. After a couple of 25-odd innings, his compatriot David Miller also entered fifth gear with his first half-century of the season.
Kieron Pollard had produced an impressive innings of 21 balls and 32 runs in the last game against Islamabad.
Among bowlers, Afghan Ihsanuullah has taken 10 wickets in three games, including two in the most recent match. Abbas Afridi and Usama Mir have also contributed significantly to the bowling attack, with the latter taking four wickets in the most recent game. Both domestic bowlers have already taken eight wickets in the PSL.
While the three has formed the greatest bowling team in the PSL thus far, Mohammad Ilyas has also contributed with 2/12 in the most recent game.
Carlos Brathwaite bowled an uninspiring 0/29 (3 overs) in his debut encounter of the season, replacing compatriot Akeal Hosein, but his bowling variations make him a threat.
