In a milestone for Indian cricket administration, Mithun Manhas was unanimously elected as the 37th president of the BCCI at the 94th Annual General Meeting (AGM) held in Mumbai. This post had remained vacant since Roger Binny’s resignation in August 2025.
Manhas, a former cricketer from Delhi and Jammu & Kashmir, becomes the head of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), with Rajeev Shukla remaining as vice-president and Devajit Saikia as secretary.
Mithun Manhas, President of BCCI: A Cricketer Who Became an Administrator
Speaking on the day of his appointment, Mithun Manhas, who turns 46 in October, stated:
“It’s an absolute honour to be the president of the world’s finest cricketing board. I’ll give my best with complete dedication and passion.”
When asked what worked in his favour, he credited his credentials both as a player and administrator. Notably, Manhas has spent the past four years with the Jammu & Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) and was part of a BCCI-appointed sub-committee managing its operations.
Mithun Manhas’ Cricketing Background
Manhas had a distinguished 20-year domestic career from 1997-98 to 2016-17:

Played for Delhi before he made the switch to Jammu & Kashmir in 2015. After retirement, he worked as a coach for several teams, including Kings XI Punjab, Royal Challengers Bengaluru, and Gujarat Titans in the IPL, and also as batting consultant for Bangladesh U-19.
Raghuram Bhat Appointed BCCI Treasurer
As president among the office bearers along with Mithun Manhas is added Raghuram Bhat, former India and Karnataka spinner, who has been appointed treasurer of BCCI. Bhat concluded his term as Karnataka State Cricket Association president (2022–2025) recently.
