  • Asia Cup 2012: Suresh Raina 

The catch Raina made off Pravin Kumar’s bowling during the 2012 Asia Cup, widely regarded as a career-high for Raina, showed off tremendous agility. In the closing overs of Pakistan’s innings during the India vs. Pakistan game, a famous catch was made. When the catch occurred, Pakistan had a score of 323 runs, which was outstanding. A marauding Younis Khan drove one while positioned at short cover, intending for a boundary. Unexpectedly, Raina dove back and threw his palm up to grab the lightning ball. The superb catch made by Raina slowed Pakistan’s scoring pace in the slog overs. Since then, the one-handed catch has earned the top slot in cricket’s Hall of Fame.   • IPL 2010: David Hussey

This catch is without a doubt one of the best in IPL history and a fantastic display of quickness and awareness. In addition to this outstanding catch, the IPL 2010 encounter between the Delhi Daredevils and the Kolkata Knight Riders also saw a role switch. 

Paul Collingwood, a fielder renowned for his quick reactions and acrobatic abilities, was this time on the striking end.   • 2001 Ashes Series: Adam Gilchrist

Adam Gilchrist’s surprising catch was a masterful demonstration of his powerful athleticism. The legendary catch happened at the 2001 Ashes. At the striking end, Marcus Trescothick tried to play it to the boundary using a modified sweep. He smashed the fielder’s heel instead. When the ball bounced on the rebound, the fielder was in pain. Gilchrist sprinted and leaped to make the historic catch as the ball returned. 

  • World T20 Series, 2007: Dinesh Karthik 

The catch should be included on the top cricket catches list. Dinesh Karthik made the catch at slip off an R.P Singh delivery during an ODI match against South Africa. He was positioned in the slips rather than his usual position behind the wickets. Graham Smith was the unlucky left-handed hitter. Graham Smith attempted a pull shot, but the ball smacked the edge of his bat and flew through the air. Kartik caught the ball at slip with minimal hesitation. 

  • ICC Cricket World Cup 1999: Jonty Rhodes

Jonty Rhodes, regarded as one of the best fielders in cricket history, has long been a batsman’s worst nightmare when he fields from a backward point. Jonty Rhodes produced one of his all-time finest catches during the 1999 ICC Cricket World Cup match between England and South Africa off a delivery from Lance Klusner. The shot fired by Englishman Robert Croft sailed high above Jonty’s head. Rhodes leaped into the air to try to palm the ball, but he was unsuccessful. The ball, however, had slowed down and had begun to lag behind Jonty. Jonty Rhodes had incredible agility as he dove back in time to catch the ball.
