New Zealand’s veteran fast bowler Matt Henry was originally included in the team for the fourth and fifth T20Is against Pakistan, even though he had a shoulder injury that he picked up in the Champions Trophy semi-final against South Africa.

Henry had been coping with both his right shoulder injury and a chronic left knee problem. But after re-evaluation, New Zealand Cricket announced on Saturday that Henry will miss the last two games, continuing his rehabilitation program.

Zakary Foulkes Kept in as a Stand-In

With the absence of Henry, Zakary Foulkes has been kept in the side for the remaining T20Is.

Foulkes had initially been picked up only for the first three games of the series but will now remain behind to fill Henry’s position. Foulkes was impressive in his limited appearances, grabbing 1 for 11 from three overs in the first match and a spell of none for 32 from three overs during the second match. Both these efforts were in New Zealand’s wins.

Kyle Jamieson Removed from Squad

Kyle Jamieson Removed From Squad Kyle Jamieson has been removed from the last two games despite being one of the stars of the first T20I, taking 3 for 8. He struggled in the third T20I, conceding 54 off 4 overs, which certainly aided eventual winners Pakistan, but Jamieson started well.

For this contradiction, Jamieson has been replaced by Will O’Rourke, who only came to the series intending to play the first three games. O’Rourke offers a different look to the group.

New Zealand’s Strong Bowling Attack

New Zealand’s bowling unit has been spearheaded by Jacob Duffy, who has been in top form during the series. Duffy is the current leading wicket-taker with seven wickets. Other important bowlers, including James Neesham and Ben Sears, have also played their part in the team’s success. The spin unit, headed by Ish Sodhi, has been solid, with captain Michael Bracewell offering further spin options.

Matt Henry is Out of the PAK vs NZ T20 Series

In the absence of Matt Henry from the PAK vs NZ T20 series, New Zealand will be depending on their good bowling line-up, which consists of Jacob Duffy, James Neesham, and the spinners, as well as the depth in the batting lineup.
