It is a repeat show of the 2021 T20 World Cup final. Aaron Finch’s Australia will take on Kane Williamson’s New Zealand at the historic SCG on Saturday. This game will set the tone for the next few weeks as cricket fever reaches its optimum in the T20 World Cup.

But there is a disappointing development for cricket lovers. It is about the possibility of rain. As per weather reports, there is a 90 percent chance of rain. If the game is washed out, it will set a bad trend for the World Cup.

Australia team news: Maxwell needs runs

Tim David is likely to play a finisher role. Australia is not planning to take too many chances in the eleven. They are likely to go with all the experienced members. Steve Smith may sit out because of the team combination. The same will happen with Cameron Green, who came in place of the injured Josh Inglis.

Meanwhile, star all-rounder Glenn Maxwell’s form is a worrying factor for the Men in Yellow. The aggressive batter has not scored over ten runs in the last eight innings. He would look to put on an improved show. Australia has a settled bowling combination, but Pat Cummins’s form is a cause for worry for the 2021 world champions. Josh Hazlewood and Mitchell Starc are in decent form.

New Zealand has a changed look

Finn Allen and Devon Conway are the new openers, and Martin Guptill may play down the order. The choice of deciding on a spinner between Ish Sodhi and Mitchell Santner is a tough headache for Williamson. Meanwhile, Trent Boult is in bright form, and it is a positive boost.

New Zealand batters failed against South Africa in the warm-up game. Australia suffered defeat at the hands of India. Both teams would aim for a winning start to the tournament. However, what about the rain? The answer is a few hours away.
