IPL 2025: The list of Impact Players for the 30th match of IPL 2025 between Lucknow Super Giants and Chennai Super Kings has been announced.
The match is being played at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium on Monday, April 14. Lucknow Super Giants, led by Rishabh Pant, are facing MS Dhoni’s Chennai Super Kings.
Lucknow Super Giants have surprised many this IPL season, winning four matches so far—matching the records of top teams like Delhi Capitals, Gujarat Titans, and Royal Challengers Bengaluru.

Despite a weak bowling unit and poor powerplay performance (economy of 10.8—the second-worst), their batting has been strong. They’ve scored 60+ in the powerplay in four out of six games, and their run rate against spin (10) is the second-best this season.
While Rishabh Pant is out of form, others have stepped up—especially Nicholas Pooran, who leads the Orange Cap race.
Chennai Super Kings, on the other hand, are struggling. MS Dhoni is back as captain, but the team sits at the bottom of the table. Except for spinner Noor Ahmad, there haven’t been many positives. Coach Stephen Fleming even said Dhoni doesn’t have a “magic wand” to fix things overnight.
In past matchups, LSG has had the upper hand over CSK, winning three of their five encounters, with one match ending without a result.
At the toss, MS Dhoni explained that the dew factor influenced their decision to bowl first and thanked the fans for their support. He said:
“We are blessed, we get good support wherever we go. We want to bowl first, there’s chances of dew here.”

Rishabh Pant also mentioned that they were looking to bowl first. He said:
“It’s just amazing. We would have bowled first. In Lucknow it’s slower in the first innings, gets better gradually. The only thing we talked about CSK is that we don’t want to give them an opening, just need to give our 100%. We want to go out there and play good cricket. Only one change – Marsh comes back in for Himmat Singh.”
