Albie Morkel, a South African all-rounder of yesteryear, is the holder of the record for the longest six in IPL history. In IPL 2008, which was the first version, Morkel blasted a massive 125-meter six representing the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) against the Deccan Chargers.

This astonishing power hitting not only made history, but set the standard of six hitting in the IPL, and it remains one of the most memorable events of the tournament during the early years.

No roundup of power hitters is complete without presenting Chris Gayle, the destructive batting legend from the West Indies. Chris Gayle is fondly known for his incredible ability to hit sixes into orbit, but even for such a prolific six-hitter, a 119-meter six hit against the Pune Warriors in IPL 2013, playing for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), only ranks him fifth on the longest six list.

Though it displays Gayle’s power-hitting capabilities to the fullest while not surpassing records on our list, I’m pretty sure that nobody would ever accuse Gayle of being an unreliable six-hitter during any point in his IPL career, and Gayle has many more records not just with sixes to speak for it.
