LLC 2024 Auction: The much-awaited Legends League Cricket 2024 auction was held in Delhi on August 29 (Thursday). As many as six teams will be participating in the third edition of the league, which is scheduled to kickstart on September 20. The tournament will be played at the Barkatullah Khan Stadium in Jodhpur, and the final match is scheduled to take place at the Bakshi Stadium in Srinagar on October 16.
All six participating teams—Manipal Tigers, Urbanrisers Hyderabad, Gujarat Giants, India Capitals, Southern Superstars, and Konark Suryas Odisha—took part in the LLC 2024 auction. These six teams roped in a total of 97 players in the LLC 2024 Auction. Top cricketers like Shikhar Dhawan, Dinesh Karthik, and Hashim Amla were the highlight of the LLC 2024 auction.
However, there were a few notable names that went unsold at the LLC 2024 auction.

Top players who went unsold in the LLC 2024 auction:
Aaron Finch:
Aaron Finch, Australia’s T20 World Cup-winning captain, exclusion from the upcoming edition of the Legends League Cricket is a big surprise. Finch had an impressive run in the World Championship of Legends 2024.
TM Dilshan:
TM Dilshan getting unsold at the LLC 2024 auction has raised a lot of eyebrows, considering the vast experience that he has in the limited-overs format of the game. TM Dilshan retired from the sport just when T20 cricket was becoming more popular, but he made sure to stay involved in the game by playing in various T20 leagues around the world.
For the unversed, Dilshan, who invented the stunning ramp shot, has been out of action, with his last appearance in last year’s LLC.
Shaun Marsh
Shaun Marsh is another notable Australian cricketer who is missing from the LLC 2024 lineup. Known for his aggressive batting, Marsh has also demonstrated his competitive edge in the longer format at times. Taking note of his contribution in the 20-over format over the last few years, it is surprising that no franchise chose to invest in the former Australian star.
Ben Cutting:
Ben Cutting may have had a relatively brief international career, but he has consistently been a crucial player in T20 leagues worldwide. Hailed for his powerful batting and accurate medium-pace bowling, Cutting has turned out to be a valuable asset for every team he has played for.
With the all-around skills that he brings to the table, Cutting’s going unsold from the LLC 2024 auction has sparked a discussion.
Martin Guptill
Guptill witnessed many ups and downs throughout his career, however, he made sure his white-ball career was strong and steady. Known for his smooth short-arm pull, Martin Guptill has always made an impact with his powerful shots and consistent performances for every team he has played for. It was surprising to see him being left out by teams at the LLC 2024 auctions.
