From Debut To Retirement – The cricketing journey of Kedar Jadhav:

Kedar Jadhav, who made his international debut in 2014, has played 73 ODIs and nine T20Is for India. Kedar rose to fame in 2012, when he scored a triple century in the Ranji Trophy, against Uttar Pradesh and also finished as the second-highest run-getter for Maharashtra in that tournament.

He earned widespread appreciation with his performances in the 2013-2014 edition of the Ranji Trophy, becoming the highest run-getter of the season, with 1223 runs including 6 centuries.

Though, he earned his India call-up for the ODI series against Bangladesh in June 2014, he had to wait till November that year to get his maiden international cap. He eventually made his debut against Sri Lanka in Ranchi.

He was then named in the Indian squad for the two tours to Zimbabwe, first in the year 2015, when he scored an unbeaten century, and then in 2016, when he had to warm the bench.

He became a regular player at the Indian cricket team when he featured in all five games against New Zealand at home. In the next few years, Jadhav played the role of a finisher. He was also a part of the Indian squad for World Cup 2019, where the Men in Blue lost to New Zealand in the semi-final.

Talking about his journey in the Indian Premier League, he was initially a part of the Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s development squad, but he was drafted by the Delhi Daredevils franchise (Delhi Capitals now) in the year 2010. He made an instant impact for the Delhi-based team with his 29-ball 50 on his debut match.

On Monday, 3rd June 2024, Kedar Jadhav took to his social media and announced his retirement from all forms of cricket. However, what caught everyone’s attention was the fact that he announced his retirement in MS Dhoni-style.

Thank you all For your love and support throughout my Career from 1500 hrs Consider me as retired from all forms of cricket,” Jadhav posted at 3 PM on Monday.
