
England fast bowler Jofra Archer, playing for Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2025, set an unwanted record on Sunday (March 23) during his team’s first match of the season.
Jofra Archer Sets Unwanted Record with Worst Bowling Figures in IPL History
Jofra Archer, who was bought by RR for Rs 12.50 crore in the IPL 2025 auction, gave away 76 runs in his four overs against Sunrisers Hyderabad at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. This performance earned him the record for the worst bowling figures in IPL history.
He surpassed Mohit Sharma‘s record of conceding 73 runs in four overs for Gujarat Titans against Delhi Capitals in an IPL 2024 match played in Delhi on April 24, 2024.
Archer was hit for 23 runs in his first over by Travis Head, who scored 67 runs off 31 balls. In his second over, Archer gave away 12 runs. He bowled the 13th over of SRH’s innings and allowed 22 runs, with Ishan Kishan hitting him for a six on the first, second, and fifth balls (Kishan made 106 runs off 47 balls).
In his final over, the 18th over of SRH’s innings, Heinrich Klaasen smashed Archer for four fours, taking 23 runs off the over.
