IND vs PAK: Cricket in Pakistan has declined in the last few years. The team has been eliminated in the first round of several ICC tournaments one after the other. Be it the 2023 ODI World Cup or the 2024 T20 World Cup or the 2025 Champions Trophy, the team’s poor performance has been a topic of discussion. Cricket fans and cricket pundits around the world are giving their opinion on this. In this connection, India’s great player Sunil Gavaskar had also given a statement and said that even India’s B or C team can defeat Pakistan.
His statement was not liked by former Pakistan coach and former Australian fast bowler Jason Gillespie. He has called Gavaskar’s statement nonsense. Gillespie is currently suffering a double pain. Just before the Champions Trophy, he was removed from the post of coach by the Pakistan Cricket Board. In the Champions Trophy, Team India defeated both Pakistan and Australia and knocked them out.
Gillespie called Gavaskar’s statement nonsense
Gillespie did not agree with Gavaskar’s statement. He called Gavaskar’s analysis completely nonsense and said that the right players in the Pakistan team should be given time to grow. He said – I do not agree with this. I saw some comments of Sunil Gavaskar that the Indian B team or the Indian C team will beat the top team of Pakistan. This is nonsense. Absolute nonsense. If Pakistan selects the right players and gives them time to perform and settle down and learn and develop the game, then they can beat anyone. I have no doubt about this.
Gavaskar had said that he is sure that India’s B or C team will easily defeat Pakistan. He said, ‘I think India’s B team can definitely give a tough fight to Pakistan. I cannot say so confidently about the C team. But it will be very difficult for Pakistan to defeat India’s B team in its current form.’ The Pakistan cricket team has gone through many changes in recent years. There have been many changes from captaincy, selection panel and even the board president. Now many more changes can be seen if Pakistan is out of the tournament hosted by itself. The first step in this series is that Rizwan and Babar have been dropped from the T20 team.
