IPL: Top cricketers who have only played one IPL match

We will present you with the ten international stars that have only played one IPL match in their whole career.

The Indian Premier League is without a doubt the largest T20 league in the world, and every cricketer’s desire is to play in the IPL once. While the structure of this league has turned obscure names into overnight heroes, it has also closed the door on the game’s legends.

It is not assured that this league will accept you if you have had tremendous success at the international level or in other T20 leagues.

Many players have failed to make it big in the IPL, thus in this countdown, we will present you with the ten international stars that have only played one IPL match in their whole career.

Brad Haddin

Haddin was an athletic wicket-keeper who took some spectacular diving catches while playing for Australia. He first appeared in the IPL as a player for KKR in 2011.

Haddin only appeared in one game in the IPL, against RCB. At a strike rate of 163.64, he scored 18 runs off 11 balls with two boundaries and a six. Haddin is currently the assistant coach of PBKS in the IPL.

Mashrafe Mortaza

Mortaza, a renowned leader in Bangladesh cricket, was instrumental in revitalizing his country’s innovative approach to the game. During his captaincy, Mortaza led Bangladesh to new heights, as they played a knockout game in an ICC competition for the first time, against India, in the 2017 Champions Trophy.

Mortaza was given the opportunity to play for the Knight Riders in the IPL in 2009. He only appeared in one game, against the (now-defunct) Deccan Chargers. He made an unexpected debut for KKR, giving up 26 runs in the final over to Rohit Sharma when only 21 were required. He finished with a dismal 58 runs in four overs.

Damien Martyn

Martyn was a quiet hero in Australia’s golden age. He was the unsung hero on Australia’s star-studded team. Martyn scored numerous vital goals and helped his team win games during his tenure.

Martyn received a surprising IPL deal with the Rajasthan Royals in 2010. He only played one game that season, his sole game in the IPL, and was later released. Martyn hit a boundary and scored 19 runs off 24 balls with a strike rate of 79.17.

Younis Khan

Younis was one of Pakistan’s all-time greats and one of the world’s most graceful batters. Younis led Pakistan to its first-ever T20 World Cup victory in 2009.

Younis made his IPL debut with the Rajasthan Royals in the first season in 2008. Younis managed only three runs off seven balls.

Mohammad Ashraful

Former Bangladeshi captain and notable batter was an example of graceful batting. He was the star batter with tremendous talent during his playing days.

Ashraful got an IPL contract with the Mumbai Indians in 2009. He didn’t have a terrific outing in his sole game, scoring only two runs on ten pitches.
