IPL 2025: Gujarat Titans defeated Kolkata Knight Riders by 39 runs in the 39th match of IPL 2025 at Eden Gardens, Kolkata, on April 21. Gujarat’s openers, Shubman Gill (90) and Sai Sudharsan (52), led a strong start, helping their team post a big total.
Gujarat Titans Dominate KKR with 39-Run Victory
Gill and Sudharsan put pressure on KKR bowlers with their half-centuries, adding 114 runs for the opening wicket. After Sudharsan’s dismissal, Jos Buttler (41*) partnered with Gill to add 58 more runs for the second wicket. Buttler’s late contributions helped Gujarat Titans reach 198/3.

Kolkata Knight Riders had a rough start, losing Rahmanullah Gurbaz in the first over. Sunil Narine (17) and captain Ajinkya Rahane (50) then put up a 41-run partnership, putting pressure on Gujarat.
Rahane’s half-century kept them in the game, but he lacked support from the other end. Andre Russell (21) looked dangerous but was dismissed by Rashid Khan. Gujarat took wickets regularly, limiting Kolkata to 159 and winning by 39 runs.
