There are definitely many national matches being held here in Bilaspur. In the future, Bilaspur will continue to host matches like the Ranji Trophy, Duleep Trophy, and Vijay Hazare Trophy. We are also working to ensure Dharamshala gets more matches, with hopes for three this time, up from two last time. There’s no major change in the rules. IPL remains the most important cricket league in the world, bringing together top players from across the globe. It’s organized with a very competitive spirit, and this year, it will be even better.

The 3rd edition of the “Sansad Khel Mahakumbh” has already started on Monday at the Bilaspur Cricket Stadium. A total of 45 teams from the district have participated, and the competition will run until March.

Dhumal acknowledged the Sansad Khel Mahakumbh praise for helping to improve the sports facilities and find gifted athletes from rural areas. He noted that more up-and-coming athletes in national sports come from rural areas.

“The talent we see today in cricket, or any other sport, comes from villages,” he stated. Players like Yashasvi Jaiswal and Rinku Singh are examples of talented athletes that come from low-support families but excel because of their skill. Additionally, he brought out the increasing number of female cricket players.

“Last year, Renuka Singh Thakur, a Himachal girl, was named the ICC Women Cricketer of the Year. More and more talented people will have the chance to showcase their abilities when similar events are held here. And I think it will be very beneficial to the state and the nation in the future,” he said.
