Shane Watson believes Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) can win IPL 2025. The former RCB all-rounder also picked Virat Kohli as his Player of the Match in the final.

Shane Watson Predicts RCB to Lift IPL 2025 Trophy
RCB finished second in the league stage, winning 9 matches and losing 4, with one no result. In their last game, they chased down 228 against Lucknow Super Giants – their highest IPL chase. They now face Punjab Kings (PBKS) in Qualifier 1 on May 29 in Mullanpur.
Josh Hazlewood, who has taken 18 wickets in 10 matches, is likely to return after injury. RCB gave up 200+ totals in the games he missed.
Shane Watson said on his ‘X’ handle: “The winner of IPL 2025, and I’ve been thinking long and hard about it, is RCB. And the Man of the Match for me is Virat Kohli, the great man. And here’s the reason why. I just get a feeling that this is the time for RCB. They have had a few blips in the back end of the tournament, but with Josh Hazlewood coming back for the Playoffs, I get a feeling this is the year.”

Jitesh Sharma has captained RCB in the last two matches, while regular skipper Rajat Patidar has been used as an Impact Player due to a finger injury on his right hand. It remains to be seen if Patidar returns to the starting XI and resumes captaincy for Qualifier 1 on Thursday.
