
Rajasthan Royals (RR) have suffered a major setback ahead of their IPL 2025 match against Mumbai Indians (MI) as fast bowler Sandeep Sharma has been ruled out for the rest of the tournament due to a finger injury.

For the unversed, Sharma fractured his finger during the previous match against the Gujarat Titans (GT) at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
Despite the injury, Sandeep Sharma continued to bowl and played a key role for the Rajasthan Royals. He has been performing well in the tournament, contributing effectively during both the powerplay and death overs.
Rajasthan Royals confirmed Sandeep Sharma’s unavailability for the rest of the season by posting a video showing the pacer with a fractured finger. The franchise acknowledged that he had bowled through pain in the previous game and wished him a speedy recovery. The official statement read:

Sandeep Sharma’s Injury Adds to Rajasthan Royals’ Struggles
Sandeep Sharma’s injury is a huge setback for Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2025, especially with qualification at stake. The pacer has been a key player for the team and has taken 10 wickets in 10 matches this season, with a solid economy rate of 8.03. His best performance was 2/21 against Gujarat Titans. In his IPL career, he has taken 146 wickets in 137 matches.
This injury adds to the troubles for Rajasthan Royals, as captain Sanju Samson is also sidelined with a side strain, with no clear return date.
Currently, Rajasthan Royals are struggling in the tournament, sitting at the bottom half of the table. To make it to the playoffs, they must win all their remaining matches.
