KKR Spinners Overwhelm as Quinton de Kock Leads Team to Win in IPL 2025: RR vs KKR

In a nail-biting game of the IPL 2025, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) conquered a slow pitch and a good show from Rajasthan Royals (RR) to register an easy win.
Even as their star spinner Sunil Narine was absent due to health reasons, KKR’s spinners rose to the occasion, and Varun bowled his 4 overs with 13 dot balls and wickets with an economy of just 4.25. Along with him Moeen Ali, Harshit Rana, and Vaibhav Arora also took 2 wickets. Spencer Johnson was quite expensive but came out with one wicket of Jofra Archer at the end.
KKR Spinners Shine on Dry Guwahati Surface
KKR’s bowling attack was spearheaded by the pair of Moeen Ali and Varun Chakravarthy, who played crucial roles in pegging Rajasthan Royals back to a humble total of 151/9. With Narine out of action, recruit Moeen Ali replaced him in the team and bowled with great control, while Chakravarthy’s mysterious spin was a big problem for the batters of RR.
The pair mustered an impressive 8-0-40-4, disabling RR’s batting order and giving the opposing team hardly any space to pick up the pace. Their performance left KKR with no need for the all-round skills of Andre Russell, who was kept on the sidelines with ball and bat.
Riyan Parag’s Disappointing Homecoming
The game began well for Rajasthan Royals as Riyan Parag, playing his home side as captain in Guwahati, provided a thrill of electricity to the crowd with an awesome one-handed six off Harshit Rana in the third over. The next ball, a lofted drive off Vaibhav Arora, was an equally classy six above his head during the powerplay.
Parag carried on his attacking game by dispatching a short ball from Varun Chakravarthy for another six over midwicket. But Varun, in typical spinner style, changed gear quickly and bowled a dart that moved away from Parag, prompting an edge. The keeper, Quinton de Kock, did not err, returning Parag for a nicely played 15.
Despite his efforts with bat and ball, including a neat 4-0-25-0 spell of bowling and the run-out of Moeen Ali, Parag’s homecoming was spoiled by the outcome, as RR was unable to come back from the early blows.
Quinton de Kock’s Match-Winning Knock

Whereas KKR’s bowlers laid the platform, it was Quinton de Kock who asserted himself with the bat. The South African wicket-keeper batter delivered a faultless knock, staying unbeaten on 97 off 61 balls. His patient but strong innings led KKR easily to victory, pushing them to the number one spot in the IPL 2025 points table.
Despite RR’s valiant efforts, including a gallant bowling effort by Parag, KKR’s pursuit was never in doubt as de Kock’s reliability and timing wrapped up the victory for his team.
RR’s Miseries Continue in IPL 2025

For Rajasthan Royals, the defeat at the hands of KKR is their second straight loss in the IPL 2025 season.
Even though there were performances by individuals such as Riyan Parag, RR was unable to put up a fighting score, thanks in large part to KKR’s spinners who dominated the game. Despite this setback, the Royals will have to regroup and devise a plan to recover in the next game.
The RR vs KKR IPL 2025 match brought out the significance of spinners dominating a game on slow and arid tracks, as KKR’s spin pair of Moeen Ali and Varun Chakravarthy veered the game in their direction.
Quinton de Kock’s outstanding batting display made sure that KKR departed with a richly deserved victory. Rajasthan Royals will seek to regroup before their next match, while KKR will be happy with their all-round show, extending their good start to the season.
