IPL 2023: Points Table, Orange Cap And Purple Cap Leaders After RR vs PBKS

IPL 2023’s eighth game saw Shikhar Dhawan take the initiative and lead Punjab Kings to a five-run victory over Rajasthan Royals in Guwahati’s Barsapara Cricket Stadium.

Punjab Kings joined the IPL 2023 leaders on 4 points after Gujarat Titans, the other team to win their first two games of the season. Shikhar Dhawan’s PBKS defeated the IPL 2022 runners-up Rajasthan Royals by 5 runs to get to 4 points after 2 games, although they are in second place behind the Titans because of their higher net run rate of 0.700 as opposed to 0.333, which puts them ahead of them.

After losing on Wednesday night, Sanju Samson’s Royals dropped a few spots to finish fourth in the IPL 2023 Points Table. They defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad in their debut game by an enormous score of 72 runs.

Royal Challengers Bangalore are now third in the Points Table with 2 points from 1 match, but they have a fantastic NRR of 1.981 following their big triumph against five-time winners Mumbai Indians. On Thursday night, they will face two-time IPL winners Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in match No. 9 of the IPL 2023, and a win against Nitish Rana’s team might propel RCB to the top of the IPL 2023 Points Table.

Orange Cap

Shikhar Dhawan, one of the heroes of Punjab Kings’ victory in Guwahati, hit an unbeaten 86 off 56 balls at the top. Dhawan’s magnificent knock propelled him to second position in the Orange Cap competition, with 126 runs from two matches, tied with Lucknow Super Giants starter Kyle Mayers.
