With only a few hours until the start of the 16th iteration of the world’s largest T20 competition, supporter enthusiasm is building rapidly. On Friday, March 31, the reigning champion Gujarat Titans (CSK) will face the four-time victor Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the first encounter of the Indian Premier League (IPL).
The first encounter of the IPL 2023 will not only kick off the competition but will also feature an exciting inaugural ceremony at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The event will feature acts by Bollywood celebrities like Tamannaah Bhatia and Rashmika, adding to the entertainment factor for the fans. The stadium is known as the world’s biggest cricket venue, with a seating capacity of 1,25,000 spectators.
Tamannah and Rashmika prepared for the inaugural ceremony by attending multiple practise sessions at the event site on Thursday. Tamanna could be seen swaying a leg with a group of dancers in a video shared on the official Twitter account of the IPL. For the star-studded opening event, which begins at 6 p.m. IST, the two South Indian actors will be accompanied by celebrity vocalist Arijit Singh.

Furthermore, IPL 2023 is considered to be a remarkable edition of the event because it will return to its original format of home and away games, as seen in the 2019 season. Due to the COVID-19 epidemic, the previous three events were hosted in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) or at limited sites. In addition, for the first time in the tournament’s history, various new regulations will be applied, adding to the excitement for viewers.
