IPL 2023: MI Shares Ishan Kishan and Shubman Gill’s Playful Moment, Slap Each Other in Fun Video

Shubman Gill and Ishan Kishan are developing as two of the Indian cricket team’s future talents. They are tough rivals on the pitch. Off it, they are best friends. Their friendship was on display once more on the screen as the two reunited on the sidelines of a practise session at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Ishan greeted Shubman by cheekily slapping him as he entered the ground. Gill afterwards repaid the favour by doing the same. All of this fun, banter, and laughter was captured in a video uploaded on social media by Mumbai Indians.

Ishan Kishan set a new record by scoring 200 runs in an ODI against Bangladesh in December. Shubman joined Ishan in the elite club with a superb double double against New Zealand next month. This significant milestone is not shared solely by the two. They also share a room during India tours. Nowadays, each player has their own room in the team hotel, but Gill and Ishan often be found in the same room, playing games and just chilling during downtime.

Gill previously stated that Ishan does not allow him to sleep before a major match. “Ishan always ruins my pre-match routine by not letting me sleep.” He watches films at maximum volume on his iPad without the AirPods. Then I curse at him to turn down the volume or put on the airpods. So he tells me that since I am sleeping in his room, the rules are his. “We fight every day, and this is my pre-fight routine,” Gil remarked in an interview with bcci.tv.

While Mumbai Indians’ Ishan has struggled in the IPL 2023 so far, Gujarat Titans’ Shubman has produced some outstanding performances. Ishan has appeared in seven games and scored 183 runs, including one half-century. At the same time, Gill has scored 284 runs in 7 IPL 2023 games, including three fifties.
