In a thrilling encounter at the Police Gymkhana Cricket Ground, India emerged victorious against Nepal in the inaugural Women’s Bilateral Series for the Blind despite Binita Pun’s remarkable innings of 92 runs.
Opting to bat first after winning the toss, India set a formidable target of 195 by posting 194/4 in their allocated 20 overs. However, Nepal’s spirited chase led by Binita Pun’s explosive 92 couldn’t secure victory as India clinched an 8-run win, taking a 1-0 lead in the series.
Nepal, chasing 195, showcased a fierce start with Binita Pun’s stunning half-century, reaching 100 runs in just 11 overs. Despite her exceptional performance, India fought back when victory seemed imminent for Nepal. With strategic bowling, India curtailed Nepal’s innings to 186/4, restricting their chase.
