India has got many unwanted records in terms of statistics in India’s 3-0 defeat against New Zealand. From Indian batting to captain Rohit Sharma himself, this series was not good in terms of statistics.

1 This is the first time in a series of three or more Test matches that India has faced a clean sweep while playing at home. Earlier, India was clean-swept at home only twice, in 2000 South Africa defeated India 2-0 while in 1980 England defeated India in the only Test.
This is the first time since 1983 that India has lost three matches in a Test series. Earlier, India had lost three matches in a five-Test series between 1958 and 1983.

India has a win-loss record of 31-1 when chasing a target of 200 or less in Tests at home. The defeat at Wankhede is India’s first defeat at home chasing a target of less than 200. The previous highest defeat was against Pakistan in 1987 in Bengaluru chasing a target of 221.
This is the second-lowest target India has chased in 147 Tests. The previous highest was against West Indies in Bridgetown in 1997 when they were bowled out for 81 while chasing a target of 120.
This is also the second-lowest score New Zealand has successfully defended in Tests. The previous highest was 137 in Wellington in 1978.
India has lost four Tests at home this year, which is the joint-highest defeat for them at home in a year. Earlier, India had lost four Tests in 1969.
Rohit Sharma has lost five Test matches as captain at home, which is second only to Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi’s maximum of nine defeats.
Ajaz Patel has taken 25 wickets in two Tests played at Wankhede, which is the highest number of wickets taken by a bowler against India in India at a venue. Earlier, Ian Botham had taken 22 wickets at Wankhede.
Ajaz Patel took more than 10 wickets at Wankhede for the second time. Including Ajaz, only eight bowlers have achieved this feat at a single venue outside home so far. Before Ajaz, Shane Warne had taken 10-wicket hauls twice in four Test matches played at Wankhede.
Ajaz and Ravindra Jadeja have become the first left-arm spin pair to take four or more five-wicket hauls in a Test match.
Before this, only Iqbal Qasim and Ray Bright had taken more than 10 wickets in a single Test. This Test match between Pakistan and Australia was played in Karachi in 1980.
India lost its five wickets in just 7.1 overs, which is their worst performance in terms of a Test innings since 1998. Earlier, India had lost its first five wickets in 8.2 overs against New Zealand in Mohali in 1999.
Till now, there have been only two Indian batsmen who have scored a half-century in less than 50 balls in two innings of a Test. Before Rishabh Pant, Yashasvi Jaiswal had done this feat against Bangladesh in Kanpur this year.
Rohit has averaged 13.3 this Test season at home, the second-lowest average among captains batting in the top seven and playing at least eight innings in a home Test season. Nasir Hussain averaged 10.22 in six Tests at home in 2000.
