For the first wicket, Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill put up 212 runs. Rohit Sharma was dismissed for 101 off 85 balls, while Shubman Gill was out for 112 off 78 balls. Hardik Pandya’s 54 off 38 balls also aided the team’s case near the conclusion. Earlier, Tom Latham, the captain of New Zealand, won the toss and chose to bat against India. Umran Malik and Yuzvendra Chahal were called up to the playing XI by the hosts, who benched Mohammad Shami and Mohammed Siraj.
