The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is ready to finalize and announce India’s team for the highly anticipated IND vs ENG Test series, which begins on June 20, 2025. BCCI Secretary Devajit Saikia confirmed to Sports Tak that the announcement will be made in the next two weeks.

India A Team Preparations Already Underway
BCCI has already initiated logistics and squad preparation for both the senior team and the India A squad. India A will tour to play three four-day matches before the senior series. They are set to leave for England by about May 25, acting as the first lot of players who would acclimate themselves to English conditions.
IPL 2025 Players to Join Later
Cricketers already playing the IPL 2025 will come into the national team at a later point in time. The entire IND vs ENG Test squad will leave for England early in June, with a second four-day game and an intra-squad practice match to be played before the Test series commences.
This split tour strategy repeats what was done in India’s tour of Australia in 2020-21, when players who arrived early, such as KL Rahul and Dhruv Jurel, played in unofficial warm-up games to get match-ready.
