Despite Prasidh Krishna taking four wickets in the first innings, the poor performance of India A batsmen has put the team in danger of losing against Australia in the second unofficial Test. Before the Perth Test, KL Rahul (10) and Abhimanyu Easwaran (17) were being seen as options as openers, but both the batsmen failed in the second innings as well, which has increased the opening headache of the team management.
Thanks to Prasidh Krishna’s four wickets from India, the Indian team bundled out Australia A’s innings for 223 runs, giving them a lead of only 62 runs.
IND A vs AUS A, Day 2: Indian openers fails to deliver

Rahul was out in a very strange manner in the second innings. He was trying to push off-spinner Corey J’s good length ball on the middle stump to square leg but the ball came in fast and hit the pad and hit the stumps. Earlier, Nathan McAndrew made Abhimanyu his victim. Sai Sudarshan also did not perform well in this innings and he lost his wicket to Webster’s ball.

After some time, captain Rituraj Gaikwad was also LBW to McAndrew’s ball, where India lost the wickets of four of its batsmen within 44 runs. After some time, Webster also sent Devdutt Padikkal to the pavilion cheaply. Dhruv Jurel, who missed a century in the first innings, was seen batting well in this innings too.

He, along with Nitish Kumar Reddy, ensured that no more wickets fell for India till the end of the day’s play. Earlier, Marcus Harris further increased his chances of Test selection by playing an innings of 74 runs. Apart from Harris, no Australia A batsman could stay on the wicket for long. Apart from Harris, Pearson definitely scored some important runs. Under the leadership of Krishna, Indian bowlers bowled at a good length on a bouncy pitch. Apart from Krishna, Mukesh Kumar got three wickets and Khalil Ahmed got two wickets.
