IND A vs AUS A, Australia gets a comfortable win on day 3
With Sam Constas’ half-century in the second innings along with the significant support of Bo Webster of 44 runs, Australia A defeated India A by six wickets and captured the series 2-0. With this half-century, Constas also staked his claim for opening.
However, the relief for India A was Dhruv Jurel‘s second consecutive half-century and Prasidh Krishna’s good bowling in both innings and both the players have strengthened their claim for the Perth Test with this performance.
Constas scored an unbeaten 73 and shared a 96-run partnership with Bo Webster (unbeaten 46) to give his team the win. Earlier, with the help of two blows given by Prasidh with the new ball, Australia A was struggling with a score of 73 for four while chasing 168 runs.
Earlier in the day, Jurel hit his second half-century of the match to take India to a respectable score. Nitish Kumar Reddy (38), Tanush Kotian (44), and Prasidh (29) gave him good support. Jurel rescued India in both innings when India could have collapsed under a two-digit total. His 80 runs in the first innings and 68 runs in 2nd innings gave Indian bowlers a chance to perform and defend a respectable total.
When Prasidh dismissed Marcus Harris and Cameron Bancroft for a golden duck in the first over, it seemed that the match could be exciting, but Constas first got rid of captain Nathan McSweeney (25) and then Webster to give his team an easy win of 6 wickets in the 2nd unofficial test at Perth on day 3.
India’s search for an opener has still not met
However, Rohit Sharma’s absence in the first Test of the Border Gavaskar Trophy, which resulted in the search for a new opening pair came out disappointing with Kl Rahul and Abhimanyu Easwaran’s performance in this unofficial test.
