The ICC Women’s World Cup 2025 will begin on September 30 in India with the host India facing Sri Lanka in the opening match at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. The ICC has announced the complete schedule of matches, and it was found that Colombo will be a neutral venue for all Pakistan’s group-stage matches, with a total of 11 league games played at the venue.
Colombo to be Neutral Host for Pakistan Matches in ICC Women’s World Cup 2025
Colombo has been selected as a strategic venue to host all of Pakistan’s round-robin matches and is also a backup venue for the first semi-final (October 29) and final (November 2), but only if Pakistan makes it to the knockouts. It’s a curious twist that Colombo will also host four of Sri Lanka’s matches, giving them a home turf advantage in a neutral location.
All the Colombo matches will be day-night fixtures, with kick-offs at 3 PM IST, providing high-profile viewership and regular playing conditions.
