The ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 is happening in the UAE from October 3 to October 20. This marks the ninth edition of the tournament, which was originally set to be held in Bangladesh. However, due to ongoing political issues there, the event has been moved to the United Arab Emirates.
This year, 10 teams are competing, split into two groups of five. The top two teams from each group will qualify for the semi-finals. Among the players participating, many have significant experience, and for some, this could be their final appearance in the Women’s T20 World Cup.

5. Afy Fletcher (West Indies) – 37 Years, 200 Days
Afy Fletcher is a talented bowler from the West Indies, making her T20 International debut in 2008 against New Zealand. Over her career, she has appeared in 82 T20I matches, taking 73 wickets with an impressive economy rate of 5.98. Fletcher was also part of the victorious West Indies squad that clinched the Women’s T20 World Cup title in 2016, defeating Australia in the final.
4. Nida Dar (Pakistan) – 37 Years, 275 Days
Regarded as one of the best female cricketers, Nida Dar has been a consistent member of the Pakistan team since her T20I debut in 2010. She was the first woman from Pakistan to achieve the milestone of 100 wickets in T20Is. At 37, Nida has played 157 matches, claiming 143 wickets at an economy of 5.69 and scoring 2,044 runs, which includes seven half-centuries.
3. Chedean Nation (West Indies) – 37 Years, 338 Days
Chedean Nation, a middle-order batter for the West Indies, is the third-oldest player in the tournament. At 37 years old, she has participated in previous Women’s T20 World Cups, including those in 2018, 2020, and 2023. In her 54 T20I matches, she has scored 552 runs, including two half-centuries.
2. Inoka Ranaweera (Sri Lanka) – 38 Years, 228 Days
Inoka Ranaweera is a seasoned player from Sri Lanka and the second-oldest participant in this year’s World Cup. The 38-year-old spinner has played 82 T20Is, taking 91 wickets throughout her career. This tournament could potentially mark her last appearance on such a significant stage.
1. Udeshika Prabodhani (Sri Lanka) – 39 Years, 13 Days
At 39 years old, Udeshika Prabodhani is the oldest player in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024. Known for her effective inswing deliveries, she has played 103 T20Is and taken 83 wickets, maintaining an economy rate of 5.48.
