Pakistan reached the ICC T20 World Cup final in 2007. They lost to India by five runs in the pulsating encounter. In the next edition, they amended the disappointing loss by beating the hosts in England and securing the 2009 T20 World Cup.

Unpredictability has been the core of Men in Green. They can humiliate any opposition on their own day. But they can crumble the next day. This time, most of their hopes are vested in the young players who have limited experience but are highly temperamental. Babar Azam and Co are pitted in the same group that India is a part of, and they know the hype surrounding that big clash.Â
Pakistan has a fantastic opening pair
Skipper Babar Azam is one of the best batters in cricket. His opening partner, Mohammad Rizwan, is the world’s number-one T20 batter. The duo has stitched together many century-run stands for the team. Rizwan’s consistency is unbelievable, and he is a vital cog who is already in contention for the top run scorer charts.

Pakistan got an inexperienced middle order, and it is an area of concern. In the Asia Cup, they did not click in the final and hence they lost against Sri Lanka. However, the bowling unit is threatening enough with the return of Shaheen Afridi. Pakistan already has got a lot of pace power in the promising teenager, Nazeem Shah, and the experienced Haris Rauf. The addition of Afridi just added more force to the talented bunch.
Can the young guns win the cup?
Men in Green stands a chance to qualify for the semifinals, and the rest of their journey would depend on their consistency. Their bowlers are expected to enjoy the Aussie conditions more than any other team, and it is their biggest advantage.Â
🗣️ @iShaheenAfridi cannot wait to rejoin the national side for the ICC @T20WorldCup
