ICC Revenue for the next cycle, how much will India earn?

ICC announced their proposed revenue model. In this article, we will take a look at how much each country is earning from the revenue model.

The next four-year cycle’s income model was unveiled by the International Cricket Council (ICC). The Board of Control for Cricket in India will receive the largest share of the revenue model from 2024 to 2027. The revenue model will go to BCCI for 38.5% of the total. The myth of the “big three” was debunked because the combined holdings of the next largest owners, England and Australia, are only 13.14% of the stock, or less than half of what BCCI is making. This article will go into the origins of ICC‘s revenue model as well as further information.

How does ICC reach this model?

According to ICC’s projected financial model, they will make close to $3.2 billion during the 2024–2027 cycle. The money is made by selling media rights in five different places. This was the first time that media rights were sold across five different areas. The sale of media rights in the Indian market provides ICC with the majority of its income. According to reports, Disney Hotstar paid $3 billion for the cycle. If the figures are accurate, ICC is making roughly 93.75% of its revenue from the sale of media rights in India alone.

India will make $924 million over the course of the four-year period. The proposed approach by ICC and the earnings reported by BCCI left many boards dissatisfied. The first board to express displeasure with the model was Pakistan Cricket Board.

Najam Sethi, the head of the PCB, stated that they would not accept the suggested model.

Sethi said, “We are insisting that the ICC should tell us how these figures were arrived at, we are not happy with the situation as it stands. Come June, when the board is expected to approve the financial model, unless these details are provided to us, we are not going to approve it.” PCB is earning just 5.75% from the revenue model. BCCI’s annual earnings ($231 million) are more than any board will earn in the 4-year cycle. PCB will be $138.04 million in the 4-year cycle.

The associate nations will be earning 11.2% from the revenue model. Their earnings will come to 67.16.
