  • Kapil Dev’s historic 175* against Zimbabwe.

 The former Indian captain Kapil Dev has smashed fantastic centurion knock of 175*(138) against Zimbabwe in the toughest conditions. Initially, team India lost their 7 wicket on just a score of 78. But from there the finisher Kapil Dev started to show his batting glimpses and he finished off the score of Indian team on 266/8. In the second innings when Zimbabwe stepped in to bat, the Indian bowlers wrapped up their innings on just a score of 235. 

At the end, India registered a fantastic victory by a margin of 31 runs. And Kapil’s historic ton became a mesmerizing memory for his followers.

  • The Famous ‘Marillier Scoop’

In the year 2002, the Sourav Ganguly-led team India faced the best of Zimbabwe where the historic Marillier scoop shot was crafted by the zimbabwe batter Dougie Marillier. India was restricted by Zimbabwe on 274/6 in their 50 overs quota. But later when Zimbabwe came into bat, Indian bowlers thrashed the opposition with a couple of initial wickets. 

When Zimbabwe was 210/8 and the win was almost there for the Indian team, one man Dougie Marillier stood tall between team India and the victory. He played a fantastic knock of 56*(24), and invented the eminent “Marillier scoop shot”. He rocked the ball of Ajit agarkar over the wicketkeeper Rahul dravid’s head which went over the boundary for a six. 

 

  • Sachin Tendulkar’s brutal revenge on Henry Olonga

In The Coca-Cola Champions trophy of 1998 Henry Olonga, the tall and rapid Zimbabwean fast bowler dismissed Sachin Tendulkar on a lethal bouncer. The bouncer hit him on the helmet by taking a thick edge of his gloves. After the dismissal, Olonga held a wild celebration before Tendulkar which he didn’t like.

But in the final game, Sachin Tendulkar took full revenge on Henry Olonga. India and Zimbabwe were contesting for the trophy. Sachin has scored a brilliant century i.e 124*(92), and hit along through all corners of the ground. In that game, Henry Olonga conceded 50 runs in just 6 hours of his spell.
