Dilhara Fernando, a former Sri Lanka bowler and part of the Mumbai Indians IPL franchise between 2008 and 2011, shared insights on Mumbai Indians’ culture. In an exclusive interview with IANS, Fernando expressed his belief that Hardik Pandya, with his leadership qualities, is the right choice to lead Mumbai Indians post Rohit Sharma.

“Mumbai Indians have always been very competitive, taking every game seriously. The dressing room environment was fantastic, with senior players sharing experiences with the young guys. During my era, it was a really good experience for me,” Fernando added.
Hardik’s association with Mumbai Indians began in 2015, and his stellar performances earned him a spot in the Indian national team in 2016. His significant role in Mumbai Indians’ IPL triumphs from 2015 to 2021 further solidifies his captaincy potential.
Dwayne Smith, former West Indies batter and 2013 IPL winner with Mumbai Indians sees Hardik’s return as a strengthening move. In an exclusive interview with IANS, Smith mentioned, “Mumbai Indians have a very good culture, and it’s good to see Hardik Pandya go back. I think it will make them a little stronger.”
