Harbhajan Singh Praises KL Rahul’s Remarkable Comeback After Injury, Hails His Century Against Pakistan

Harbhajan Singh lauds KL Rahul’s impressive century in the Asia Cup Super Four match, highlighting the challenges of returning from injury.

Former Indian spinner Harbhajan Singh expressed his admiration for KL Rahul’s outstanding century in the Asia Cup Super Four match against Pakistan, emphasizing the difficulties of making a comeback after an injury.

On the reserve day, India achieved a formidable total of 356/2, their highest score against Pakistan in ODIs. The standout performance came from KL Rahul, who made a stunning return to international cricket with a stylish 111 not out off 106 balls. Virat Kohli also displayed astute and dazzling strokeplay, reaching his 47th ODI century with an unbeaten 122 off just 94 balls.

Harbhajan Singh, speaking on his YouTube channel, praised a specific shot by KL Rahul against Shadab Khan, where Rahul used his wrists to direct the ball towards midwicket, considering it the shot of the match. He also acknowledged Kohli’s six off the last ball of the innings as another exceptional moment.

Harbhajan acknowledged the challenges of returning after an injury and commended KL Rahul for his brilliant comeback. He noted that India completely dominated the match, with the bowlers unable to beat the bats even once.

India’s total of 356/2 equalled their joint-highest score against Pakistan in ODIs, matching the score from the Vizag match in 2005. It also ranks as the ninth-highest total scored against Pakistan in men’s ODIs and the highest total against Pakistan at a neutral venue in ODIs.

Harbhajan expressed doubt that Pakistan could have successfully chased down such a massive target, emphasizing India’s exceptional batting performance.

While acknowledging Pakistan’s bowling strength, Harbhajan credited India’s batsmen, especially Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill, for setting a strong foundation at the beginning of the innings. He expressed hope that this form would continue into the upcoming World Cup.
