IPL 2025 thriller: Gujarat Titans vs Sunrisers Hyderabad, a high-scoring thriller was witnessed, where GT successfully defended their mammoth total of 224 runs by 38 runs.
The top 3 batsmen of GT – Sai Sudharsan, Shubhman Gill, and Jos Buttler, along with short cameos of middle order batsmen, led to such a big total.
With the bowling brilliance of Prasidh Krishna and Mohammed Siraj, GT restricted SRH to just 186/6. This was the highest match aggregate between GT and SRH. P Krishna won the player of the match award for his outstanding 4-over performance, picking 2 wickets at an expense of just 19 runs.
Gujarat Titans vs Sunrisers Hyderabad: Gill, Buttler & Sudharsan Blaze GT to 224 in One-Sided Batting Show

In a gripping IPL 2025 match, Gujarat Titans produced an authoritative show against Sunrisers Hyderabad, registering a whopping 224/4 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The front-runners Shubman Gill, Jos Buttler, and B Sai Sudharsan led the charge, taking advantage of SRH’s loose bowling to establish a one-sided total.
Explosive Beginning: Gujarat Titans Achieve Record Powerplay
The Gujarat Titans vs Sunrisers Hyderabad match began explosively for the home side. GT streaked to 82 runs without any loss in the powerplay, their best-ever powerplay score in IPL history. Interestingly, the Titans arrived at this scorecard without indulging in unwanted risks, as only four runs were scored off fake shots.
SRH bowlers had a nightmare start:
Mohammed Shami was wayward, going for both ends of the wicket. Pat Cummins bowled three half-volleys in one over. Harshal Patel presented full tosses, and GT’s openers relieved their arms early.
Gill, Sudharsan, and Buttler Shine with the Bat
Shubman Gill
Gill maintained his rich run of form, whacking 76 off 38 deliveries, and making the most of SRH’s seamers’ poor bowling. His classy batting kept the tone of the innings and stabilized the middle overs.
Sai Sudharsan

Sudharsan was no less attacking in the powerplay, thrashing 48 off 23 deliveries, with five boundaries in an over off Shami. His aggressive 23-ball knock meant GT never lost steam early on.
Jos Buttler

Buttler’s innings was perhaps the most vital. Coming in after Sudharsan’s fall, he braved the blistering 40°C+ heat and dominated in the latter overs. His 64 off 37 balls featured many sixes that took GT past the 220-mark, particularly when SRH managed to pull things back for a while.
SRH’s Bowling Collapse and Fielding Highlights
SRH’s bowling was all over the place at the beginning of the match. Cummins, Shami, and Harshal could not identify the right lengths on a bat-friendly surface. The only outstanding bowling moment came from Zeeshan Ansari, who bowled out Sudharsan while trying a fine shot square.
Heinrich Klaasen produced a moment of brilliance in the field, effecting a sharp run-out of Gill with a deflection reminiscent of MS Dhoni’s wicketkeeping magic.
Top Run-Getters: GT Batters Dominate the Leaderboard
Following this match, the Gujarat Titans now boast three of the top four run-scorers in IPL 2025:
B Sai Sudharsan – Rank 1
Jos Buttler – Rank 3
Shubman Gill – Rank 4
SRH’s tough luck fight back

SRH again lost its opners’ partnership where Travis Head got dismissed early on at just 20 runs, but Abhishek Sharma on the other end stood strong and played a brave knock of 74 runs in 41 balls, which fell prey to Ishant Sharma, caught beautifully by Mohd Siraj.
Other than Abhishek, no other batsman scored higher than 23 runs, which was scored by Heinrich Klassen, who was anticipated to be the beast batsman of SRH who could have supported Abhishek and chased the mammoth target against GT of 225 runs.
After the collapse of the top 5, SRH sat in the sinking ship and just played, decreasing the margin of loss to 38 runs at last with the help of Nitish Kumar Reddy’s 21 runs of 10 balls. Nitish also got the Super Striker of the match award for playing with a striker rate of 210.
