At the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, Gujarat Titans (GT) made it four wins in a row this season by 58 runs in GT vs RR IPL 2025. GT secured pole position on the IPL 2025 table owing in part to a sensational innings from Sai Sudharsan and a brilliant bowling performance from Prasidh Krishna. Sudharshan also won the Player Of The Match for his match-winning knock.
Sudharsan’s Sublime 82 Guides GT to 217

After opting to bowl first on a red-soil wicket, RR was put under pressure early on as Sai Sudharsan arrived to crease with intent.
When he was known for taking his time in batting and gradually accelerating into top gear, the left-handed batter changed gears right at the start, playing several ramps, scoops, drives, and cuts, which helped GT finish with 50 runs in 5.1 overs.
He scored his third fifty of the summer and ultimately made 82 runs from 53 balls to hold the innings together. His partnership of 80 runs with Jos Buttler provided the early momentum that was needed. Sudharsan was dropped on 81 runs by Shubham Dubey and then only made one additional run before he was dismissed.
Shahrukh, Tewatia, Rashid Power Finish to Push GT Past 200
After a brief lull in the middle overs, M Shahrukh Khan got the score moving with a brisk 36 from 20 deliveries. The cherry on top was Rahul Tewatia and Rashid Khan, as they hit 30 runs in the last two overs – taking GT to a very challenging 217 runs for the loss of 6 wickets.
Archer Displays His Firepower Despite Loss

Despite the defeat, Jofra Archer was RR’s silver lining. Having had a disappointing beginning to the season, he was once again his fiery self, running over 152kph and sending back Shubman Gill with a peach that nicked off-stump. Archer finished with stellar figures and unsettled batters with pace and bounce all through.
In the second innings, Mohammed Siraj and Arshad Khan provided GT with a flying start with the ball. Yashasvi Jaiswal and Nitish Rana were both dismissed within the powerplay, putting RR on the back foot.
Sanju Samson and Riyan Parag tried a counterattack, adding a 48-run standoff 26 of balls. But RR’s chase lost its way when Impact Sub Kulwant Khejroliya got rid of Parag in a controversial DRS decision.
Rashid Breaks Drought, Strikes Crucial Blows

Rashid Khan, with only one wicket in four games before this match, came back in style with telling strikes. He dismissed Dhruv Jurel with a short ball of deception and later leg-before-trapped Impact Sub Shubham Dubey. Although Shimron Hetmyer counter-attacked Rashid for a while, the Afghan spinner remained in charge.
Prasidh Krishna’s Middle Overs Mayhem
GT’s reliable enforcer, Prasidh Krishna, was brutal in the middle phase. He shattered the back of RR’s pursuit by sending back Sanju Samson, who was starting to look threatening. In the 16th over, he bagged two more major wickets—Jofra Archer and Hetmyer—both victims of short balls.
Prasidh ended with match-winning returns of 3 for 24, fixing the match’s fate.
RR’s Resistance Falls Short

Despite Hetmyer’s courageous 50, the RR batting line-up was under pressure and crumbled, getting bowled out for 159 in the 19.2 over. GT’s comfortable 58-run victory marks their fourth win in a row in IPL 2025 and keeps them at the top of the points table.
Final Scorecard: GT vs RR IPL 2025
– Gujarat Titans: 217/6 (Sai Sudharsan 82, Shahrukh Khan 36)
– Rajasthan Royals: 159 all out (Hetmyer 50, Prasidh Krishna 3/24)
The GT vs RR IPL 2025 encounter displayed Gujarat Titans’ all-round prowess. With Sai Sudharsan extending his dream run and Prasidh Krishna spearheading the bowling, GT appear to be a serious challenger for the IPL 2025 title. RR, however, will have to regroup soon to remain in the playoff race.
