GT vs MI, IPL 2025: The list of Impact Players for the 56th match of IPL 2025, between Mumbai Indians (MI) and Gujarat Titans (GT), has been announced.

Led by Hardik Pandya, MI is hosting Shubman Gill’s GT at Wankhede Stadium on May 6. This is a reverse fixture, with GT having defeated MI in their first meeting earlier this season.

MI is third on the points table, having won four of five home games, but GT remains a tough challenge. GT boasts a strong top-order with Shubman Gill, Sai Sudharsan, and Jos Buttler, while their bowling attack is led by purple cap holder Prasidh Krishna. The return of Kagiso Rabada adds more strength to their squad.

Shubman Gill Reveals GT’s Strategy at the Toss

In head-to-head, GT leads 4-2 and has won the last three encounters between the teams.

At the toss, GT captain Shubman Gill stated that they would prefer to chase down any target they are set. He said:

“We will bowl first. I don’t think the wicket will change much, got to have a total on the board and then chase it.”

On the other hand, Hardik Pandya mentioned that they are comfortable with batting first. He said:

“We don’t mind batting. There’s a lot of breeze. Will be fine to bowl second in such conditions as well.”

Why is Kagiso Rabada not playing today’s MI vs GT match?

At the pre-match press conference, GT’s director of cricket, Vikram Solanki, confirmed that Kagiso Rabada was available for selection after being cleared to return.

However, Rabada was not included in the playing XI. Shubman Gill explained that the pacer needs more practice before he’s ready for matches.
