Gloucestershire had a fantastic day at the cricket, beating their neighbours Glamorgan by a huge score of 121 runs. Their captain, Jack Taylor, was the star of the show, hitting a quickfire 80 runs without getting out.
Gloucestershire made a big total of 206 runs, thanks to Taylor’s amazing hitting and good support from other batters like Cameron Bancroft and Beau Webster. Glamorgan had no chance of chasing this big score and were bowled out for just 85 runs.
David Payne was the best bowler for Gloucestershire, taking three wickets and giving away only seven runs. Other bowlers also bowled well, and Glamorgan’s batters couldn’t handle them.
This big win keeps Gloucestershire in the running for the next round of the tournament. They need to win their last game and hope another team loses to make it through.
Taylor was very happy with the win and his own performance. He said it was great to score runs and help his team win. He also praised his teammates for their batting and bowling.

Yesterday’s match at Cheltenham was chosen by the Club to celebrate Pride and to coincide with the Bristol Pride event taking place in our home city. As well as a memorable match, the Club was proud to welcome members of our LGBTQ+ supporters group and Out4Cricket to the festival. Yesterday evening, the Club became aware of some abhorrent comments posted on a support Group. Gloucestershire Cricket is proud of its EDI work, believes strongly that cricket is a game for all, and will work tirelessly to promote inclusivity throughout the whole of our country.
