In a viral video, Glenn Maxwell could be seen giving a big box to a young fan after the game. Though, Maxwell didn’t bat in the game, but he managed to get outstanding figures of 4-0-15-3 with his off-spin, taking the wickets of Shakib Al Hasan, Nitish Kumar, and Andre Russell. He also picked a jaw-dropping running catch to dismiss Ali Khan.
With only 130 runs needed for the win, the opening partnership of 79 runs between Steve Smith and Travis Head set the momentum for the Washington Freedom. The team needed only 16 overs to chase the target and stayed undefeated in the tournament.

Glenn Maxwell rested for the T20I series against England:
Meanwhile, in September, Maxwell will miss the upcoming three-game T20I series against England. However, he will play the five ODI games against England and the preceding ODIs against Scotland.
Maxwell had a forgettable season with Royal Challengers Bengaluru in IPL 2024. He received criticism and heat from the fans for his poor show with the bat as his team once again failed to win the trophy. He scored just 52 runs in 10 games, with his highest score being 28 runs.
However, he made a brilliant comeback during the T20 World Cup 2024. He scored 132 runs at 26.40 in seven games and maintained a strike-rate of 141.94. He almost single-handedly took the Australian cricket team to victory against Afghanistan in their Super 8 clash before falling for 59 runs. This defeat made Australia’s match against India a must-win, but they failed to beat India and were eventually out of the tournament.
