Gautam Gambhir has replaced ‘The Wall’ Rahul Dravid as the head coach of the Indian cricket team. Gambhir has a big responsibility of filling the shoes of Dravid, who had a successful tenure as the head coach.

Under the guidance of Rahul Dravid, the Indian cricket team made it to the semifinal of the T20 World Cup 2022 before reaching the final of the ICC World Test Championship and the 50-over World Cup in 2023.

Dravid finished his tenure as the head coach of the Men in Blue on a blockbuster note as the team ended the wait of over 13 years to lift the prestigious ICC trophy. India last won the T20 World Cup in 2007 under MS Dhoni’s captaincy.

Now the onus will now be on Gautam Gambhir to end the long wait of India for the ODI World Cup trophy. Gambhir will also be looking forward to leading the team to victory in the Champions Trophy and WTC next year.

India is my identity and serving my country has been the greatest privilege of my life. I’m honoured to be back, albeit wearing a different hat. But my goal is the same as it has always been, to make every Indian proud. The men in blue shoulder the dreams of 1.4 billion Indians and I will do everything in my power to make these dreams come true! 🇮🇳
