Future ICC Men’s T20 World Cup: Could it become the best tournaments ?

In this article, we have mentioned the future of the ICC men’s T20 World Cup in Australia, whether will it be the greatest or not.

The 2024 ICC T20 World Cup, the ninth edition of the event, is hosted by the United States and the West Indies from June 4 to 30 June, 2024. The tournament will held between  20 teams, with 12 already securing qualification. The remaining eight teams will get their spots through regional qualifiers.

Selection of Hosts:

In November 2021, the International Cricket Council (ICC) revealed that the 2024 Men’s T20 World Cup would be hosted in the United States and the West Indies. This decision followed a joint proposal from Cricket West Indies and USA Cricket, stemming from a strategic partnership between the two organizations. The ICC’s aspiration was that this World Cup would establish the USA as a prominent cricketing destination on the global stage.

However, in October 2022, there were reports that the ICC had removed USA Cricket from its administrative co-host role for the World Cup due to ongoing non-compliance with the ICC’s financial regulations and concerns about USA Cricket’s financial situation, including debts of around $650,000. This change was not anticipated to affect the actual tournament matches taking place in the United States.
